Things to buy & Access

Access to the Mt. OISHI

By using public transportation

From JR Kainan Station, take a Daiju Orange Bus for "Ogawamiya", get off at the last station "Ogawamiya".
From Ogawamiya, take a walk to the top of Mt. OISHI for about 2 hours. The distance is about 9 Km.

OR

From JR Nankai Wakayamashi Station or from JR Kainan Station, take an Arida Tetsudo Bus for "Hanazonomura" (sometimes called as "Mikan Bus"), get off at "Nakada" stop.
From Nakada Bus stop, take a walk to the top of Mt. OISHI for about 45 minutes. The distance is about 2.5 Km.

By using a car

From Kainan Higashi IC of Hanwa Expressway, take route 370 to the east.
At the Daigi intersection in Nokami Town, take the Prefectural road Mita-Oishiguchi Station Line to the south. After running for about 4 Km, you will find a signboard of the illustrated map around OISHI Highland Area. After going through the signboard, turn to the left before passing a small bridge. From this point, the road will become narrow and winding. After running for about 5 Km, you will reach the Fudatate Pass where you can see an open space on your both side. After turning to the right in front of "Kogen no Ie Shimizu", you will easily get to the place just below the top of Mt.OISHI.
(Because the road is very narrow in several points, it is difficult for beginner drivers to get to the top. In winter time, tire chains are surely needed.)
